Dear Colleague

Thank you for your interest in the Chair role at Community Health Partnerships (CHP).

CHP exists to provide high quality health and social care facilities and associated services to the NHS and other local partners, to meet local needs, for the benefit of patients, service users and those that care for them. We work with commissioners and providers to maximise the benefit of our existing assets and respond to the need for new developments. With 15 years’ experience in commercial investment, strategic estate planning, community infrastructure development and property management, we are well placed to bring enduring value to the NHS.

CHP operates in a context of ongoing change and an ever evolving health and social care landscape. This provides us with both challenges and opportunities. Such an environment calls for intelligent leadership, expertly informed, sustainable solutions and efficient, evidence-based management.

CHP has a proven track record of enabling local delivery of integrated care and is ideally placed to support the development of the increasingly integrated health and care system set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. A range of models, both new and established, for attracting private funding into infrastructure development will need to be used, and we have the expertise to evaluate and implement the right solutions for individual communities and projects.

CHP’s method of partnership working provides us with a great opportunity to contribute and, where appropriate, to lead in this complex area. Buildings are often the focal point for such collaboration and integration, and in our plans, we seek to optimise this opportunity.

CHP manages a range of roles - investment partner, head tenant, contract manager - and has well established relationships with a wide range of stakeholders - DHSC, commissioners, investors and providers from different sectors. Our plan describes our aim to grow and develop these roles and relationships to deliver value, make best use of our assets and invest wisely in new buildings.

We have a strong board providing oversight and assurance and a robust governance culture. We are a national employer and we invest in our team to realise their potential.

The present Chair is nearing the end of his final term in office and the Company is now looking to appoint a successor. The role of Chair requires an individual of the highest calibre who has strong leadership, commercial and governance skills and experience.  Working closely with the DHSC shareholder, the Chair leads the board, sets its agenda and ensures it is an effective working group.  The Chair must promote a culture of openness and debate and pursuit of value for money, and is responsible for effective communication with key stakeholders and ensuring that all board members receive accurate, timely and clear information from the management team.

If you think you have the skills and ability to add value to our board in driving forward our mission we would like to hear from you.

If you have any question or would like further information please contact Melanie Shearer at GatenbySanderson on     or melanie.shearer@gatenbysanderson.com.

I look forward to meeting you further in the process

Ben Masterson
